We have moved inland from Bar Harbor in search of moose!! Every where you look in Maine you see moose paraphernalia- moose cutouts, moose sculptures, beware of moose signs, etc. So we set out to see if we could find some real moose in the mountains of Maine.
Why not start at the top and take a canoe ride in search of moose with a trained guide. Moose like wading in ponds in search of grass, so let’s go canoeing on a beautiful pond. I’m sure we will see some moose when we have a trained guide leading the way!!!Here is the only moose we ended up seeing on that attempt!!Attempt number two. New friends Mike and Kim said, “let’s take our convertible and take a drive two hours from our campground to known moose sighting area!!!” Kim even said some prayers for us asking God to let us see some moose. We have to see moose now!Seven hours of moose hunting including Kim taking us off roading in the convertible, this is the only moose we could find!!! We had a lot fun that night, thanks Kim and Mike!Attempt number three. Ed let’s take another drive in a different direction up to the corner of the state where Maine meets New Hampshire and Canada. We can go up in the mountains with no cell service and take these dirt logging roads that are one lane with big holes, your dually truck can go anywhere!! Look they even advertise with a moose! We have to see a moose this time. Just one moose that is all I need to see. Third times a charm!!!We got mountains and trees, moose like this terrain! We also got little streams of water with tree cover, moose like this also!We got leaves and wild blueberries. Moose have to like blueberries!!!We have to be in the right area now, more pictures of moose. A true Mainer!!!On our first attempt our trained guide told us so many interesting facts about moose including that the state of Maine has about 75,000 moose. This is all I get on my third attempt, a cut out of two moose fighting!!!
That’s enough of my time spent looking for moose! If I’m going to see a moose this trip, God is going to have to convince one of those 75,000 moose he has put in this state of Maine that they need to stop eating so much grass out of site of humans.
HEEEERE, Moosey, Moosey! 😉 SO fun exploring with you guys, even if Mike was the only one that saw a moose, for reals! 🙁
