The Park Loop Road is a 27 mile long scenic drive on the east side of Mt. Desert island. The road takes you through forests, past a beach and rocky cliffs to the top of Cadillac Mountain. Most of the road is two lanes but one way and the right lane is used for parking so you can stop where you choose and go exploring all the different trails and sights. Ed and I spent hours on these 27 miles of road checking out all the sights. Our favorite thing to do was to explore the rocky areas and find a large rock to set down and just watch the waves hit the rocks.
