We decided to take a Sunday afternoon drive and check out a few other things in the area where we were staying in North Carolina.

Pilot Mountain State Park – iconic geologic knob that serves as a beacon to the surrounding area.

Mt. Airy is located within North Carolina wine country so of course we had to check out a winery and do a tasting of the Carolina wines!!
