Lavender Farm – Newport, Maine

The beautiful picture on the front of the brochure at the Maine welcome center caught my eye with the title “Experience Lavender “. I couldn’t resist picking it up and putting it in the pile with the other brochures. I discovered the lavender farm on the brochure was only 20 minutes from our second campground. So the time arrived to visit the lavender farm. They had picked most of the lavender the first two weeks of July so it was more green than purple, but the farm was really cute. Just strolling along the rows of lavender and other gardens was so relaxing. Come take a stroll in the gardens.

I could not believe when I saw this flower. It is only the second time I have seen it. The first time was the flower arrangement on my dad’s coffin. I remember commenting to my mom this is a perfect flower for dad!! It has a thistle combined with a flower. It is a Nigella flower. The owner had rows of them in her cut garden area so I had to ask her the name for my mom.
For all you ladies who always wanted a She-Shed here you go. This picture is especially for my friend Cheryl who I had multiple conversations about She-Sheds when we both lived in our houses in Peters Township!!
