Since the theme for our summer has been the Civil War we decided to visit the American Civil War Museum in Richmond Virginia. The museum is located on the grounds of a former foundry that made canons and other supplies for the war. We normally seem to focus on the casualties of war with the loss of life but the war also brought us new inventions due to the necessity of the time. This museum was two floors with a time line of events on the first floor and a very interesting display about the history of our current money system that started because of the Civil War.

Thanks for the history lesson! Very cool! 🙂
