When we were in Florida last year we were able to find one manatee at Crystal River so we decided to go and check out a manatee viewing center in the Tampa area. Manatee during the winter come into the springs and bay areas located around Florida to keep warm. I found a known area where large groups of manatee are known to hang out. We were not disappointed there was a large amount just hanging out on the bottom of the water. They come up for air every 7 – 20 minutes by just sticking their nose out of the water and then head back down to the bottom to hang out. Come and see.

After the manatee we set out for Fort De Soto park located on the Gulf of Mexico in the St. Petersburg area.

When we arrived at the park it was late afternoon and the sky had a lot of clouds. The sun shining through the clouds created a beautiful green tint to the water. The colors were incredible!! These are some of my favorite water pictures.
