Ed and I like museums that focus on history and this one really impressed us. When you think of a museum on WWII you can normally expect to see history about the battlefields in Europe and some restored military vehicles. This museum’s main focus was on what life was like for those who were here at home in the US. Here is a paragraph from their brochure that sums up their mission.
Never before had American society been so fully invested in a common purpose. Soldiers, sailors and airmen fought on battlefronts across the world. On the home front, there was hardly a man, woman or child who did not support the war effort through rationing, volunteering, war bond drives, factory war production, and in countless other ways. Our mission is to tell their stories and preserve them for generations to come.
Here are some photos of some interesting displays in the museum.

The museum really made you think about what life was like in this period of time in US history. This was truly the greatest generation, I wonder how society would react today if we were faced with the same situation!!!
